The Return of a Legend: Jet-Ti Stove’s 20-Year Comeback
Back in the early 2000s, around 2004-2005, we introduced a canister stove known as the Jet-Ti. The name "JetTi" is a nod to both the unique design and materials of the stove—crafted from lightweight titanium, with jets that the flame bursts out of. But there's more to the name: for all you Star Wars enthusiasts, it’s also a playful homage to the legendary Jedi, blending functionality with a bit of geeky fun.
As seen in the photo to the left, in 2005, Backpacker Magazine named the original Jet-Ti stove the “World’s Toughest Ultralight Stove.” During their testing, they subjected five different stoves to an extreme durability test—throwing them off a cliff in Colorado, onto hard granite rock. After just one throw, every stove was rendered unusable—except for the Jet-Ti. In fact, after five more throws, it remained fully functional. This exceptional durability can be attributed to the Jet-Ti’s geometric shape and minimal moving parts, which allow it to withstand extreme conditions. Now, the twenty-year anniversary edition of the Jet-Ti stove carries forward all the rugged features that made the original so tough, with even further advancements in weight reduction and stove performance.
After many years of customer requests to bring back the Jet-Ti, we’re thrilled to bring back this beloved stove, ready to tackle any adventure or backcountry mission you’re headed on.
