Game Changer

It hurt to spend 100 on this pot. Today I would do it again in a heartbeat.
I use it as you would expect, store/carry/boil water. I hadnt considered how useful the graduations are but they are critical.
Other uses ive discovered: It is perfect for dog hiking, they can get a little drink from the lid. I used it this year during dog to collect pine nuts as we walk, and since have used it as a foraging container for mint, watercress, horehound, mushrooms etc.
I love the titanium. Wish they still had stainless ones for much cheaper, because I don't care much about 2oz. But I guess the marketing goons got ahold of that one haha.

Great backwoods cocktail shaker

First, I love this product. It has replaced both my cook system and my water bottle because the nature of it allows it to be used as both. However, like others have commented, if Vargo could increase the height of the lid by just an inch, and attach a fold out handle to the rim, it would turn the lid into a small bowl/skillet allowing for much greater utility. I could make my noodles in the bot while also fying up some eggs and sausage to pour into it.

I suppose technically if you had a pot lifter you could already do this, but its not deep enough to be able to really cook anything in it. The lid already exists so I feel making a small adjustment like this to it would add a world of utility.

Plus because Vargo also sells a bowl to nest it into, we could have a pot, a frying pan, and a coffee cup all in one self contained unit making it the perfect cook system to take out onto the trail for a single person.

Please make it happen Vargo!

I never leave this home. Every time I camp or backpack I use this as a backup container for food or drink. So lightweight and items can be placed in it not to be crushed in the backpack. I bought this several years ago. I looked it up to show my friend. I was surprised the price has not gone up. It was originally a splurge for me, but so glad I made it.

Have used this in an open fire, on a stove and once where I forgot my jet boil pot. Does an amazing job, so light. Perfect for light and fast adventures and well as car camping!

Used it to cold soak but not much else yet. Seems to work as described and expect it to last for years
Didn't get the one with the handle... if i was to do it again I'd get the one with the handle..... maybe???
Typical Vargo quality!

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend and he loves it. Haven't had the chance to use it a lot yet, but he is very happy with the bot. No leaks and very versatile.

Great product, couldn't be happier. Bought the 700ml for solo trips and this 1L Bot for duo bikepacking and backpacking trips. Both Bots also easily slide into Revelate Designs Joey downtube bag for a perfect storing solution.

This isn't the best pot. If you're only cold-soaking and not reheating when you get to camp, I guess this works. However, be very careful when/if you go to reheat your cold soaked or other meal. It will burn inner perimeter of the pot almost instantly.
Also note, I burned the inner of my pot on low heat when I was reheating oatmeal. You have to stir continuously, and by continuously I mean do not stop. If you stop, the edges will burn.
Maybe I have a lemon? Maybe not? IDK, but possible a non stick or tougher coating on the inside.
For the price, not sure I'm happy, however, I do understand the cost to manufacture titanium is high.

Stop carrying (and paying for) a water bottle AND cooking pot--the Titanium BOT is made to replace both! Half water bottle, half cooking pot, it performs both functions exceptionally well while weighing less than most standard water bottles. It converts easily from a water bottle to a cooking pot with a simple flip of the lid yet its watertight, temperature resistant O-ring won’t melt when exposed to heat. Graduated measurements in 100 ml increments makes measuring food and liquid a snap. The BOT fits in most standard water bottle pockets. What it doesn’t fit into is the convention that you can’t have your cake and eat it too. Just another Vargo original idea.

From Brian Vargo - On a backpacking trip around 2011, I noticed that the size and shape of my cooking mug and water bottle were basically the same. I thought that if I could combine the two products into one, that it would be one less piece of equipment that would be needed to backpack. There were several things that needed to be considered.

First, the product had to be straight sided (unlike all water bottles) the top had to be designed so that you could insert your hand inside in order to clean the pot when being used to cook in. Second, I had to design a lid that would work as both a water-tight lid and also convert as a cooking lid. Third, although the size needed to be large enough to insert your hand, it also had to be small enough that it would fit into most water bottle pockets of a backpack.

With all these features in mind, the BOT (a combination of the word Bottle and Pot) was born. Although a simple design, it was unique and frankly took many years for customers to understand the beauty and versatility of the design. It was not until about 4 years after introduction that the BOT began to gain in popularity and understanding.
