In 2002, VARGO was started with the belief that great outdoor gear is all about pairing the best materials with simple, innovative, and functional designs. Titanium was the obvious choice for our hard goods due to its durability and lightweight strength. Over two decades later, we are proud of how far we have come thanks to a little imagination and the support of our dedicated customers.

Greetings,
When I first hit the scene, the only way you could acquire titanium was if you knew someone in a government aerospace program or something like that.
Obviously, things have changed.
I also bought a Vargo stove a while back. Not my cup of tea, but nothing to do with the quality or function of the item. I gave that stove to a friend of mine who lives in Alaska. It's just more useful to her than it ever was to me. Either way, that stove was my first experience with Vargo, as a company/manufacturer, and it left me confident in doing future business with them.
These new tent stakes, however, are JUST RIGHT. Purchased to replace the original tent stakes that came with a small backpacking tent I use. They are very lightweight, as expected, and quite strong/tough, which was also expected. I will probably invest in more of these tent stakes in the future, for use with my other tents etc. Also, I have yet to lose a tent stake, but a couple of backups wouldn't take too much room, or add too much weight.
The transaction was as smooth as could be, and the stakes arrived in my mailbox earlier than expected. All in all, I would certainly recommend titanium tent stakes for anyone interested in such an item, and I sugest purchasing them from this company too. Vargo is a company based in The United States, who has all it's manufacturing done in China. So far, they've been easy to deal with.
Happy camping
We were looking for a pack that was compatible with our ultralight ideals that was an external frame. This is it! My wife & I set off on the Pemi Loop in NH after a day shake out with the pack. Off for 3 nights with 20 lb packs we returned with smiles, highly recommending the pack along the way. Very Pleased!
I got tired of waiting for Vargo to fix the lid problem so I removed the lip from the lid. I have the 700ml and 1 litre Bots so I had an extra lid in case I ruined the test lid. The altered lid screws on perfectly and seals with the silicone ring. I used a milling machine to remove the lip but a grinder with a coarse flap disk would work. I finished the edge by rubbing the lid in circles on a sheet of sandpaper on a flat surface. Now when I want to clean up after dinner I put a little water in the Bot, screw on the lid, and shake it. Drink the soup for leave no trace!
HEXAGON WOOD STOVE
I work in a store along the Appalachian Trail. Today I found one of these BOT 700 in the trash outside the store and said, wait a minute, what's this? I tried to unscrew the lid. I have pretty strong hands and failed. I thought, this is why it's in the trash, but there has to be a way to recover this. I figured the lid must be sucked down like a canning jar seal. Another review mentions this problem. When you fill the BOT with hot fluid and close it tightly, it will seal like a canning jar as it cools. Good luck getting it open. But it can be done. The whole unit needs to be brought up to boiling in a hot water bath. Don't set it on flames directly or it will explode. Now, too hot to handle with bare hands, use a towel and slip a dull knife or some other thin tool into the lid gap and you can break the o-ring seal. FFFFt. Lid comes off. Don't throw away your $100 BOT pot for nothing. The owner of this pot had just come into the store to buy a cheaper replacement. I gave the BOT to a friend.
As advertised, very lightweight and sturdy
I've used the Vargo flint lighter for a couple years now and it is a game changer for use with my Jetboil stove in the back country and with my Coleman two burner propane stove when vehicle camping. No more matches or worrying about butane lighters going dry in the middle of a trip.
My most recent purchase was an extra for me in case I ever lose mine, and another one to gift to my son.
Simple and dependable...as outdoor gear should be.
stove came fast. it's super easy and quick to put it together or take it down. Fire's get started easily, burn hot, and pretty smokelessly
Just love it
Fits the titanium bottle perfectly. Helps keeps your beverages cool.
These are high end!
They’re sturdy yet extremely lightweight. Normally I keep them in my work bag so I can take a break for sushi at lunch.
Currently, I have them in my bag for a trip to Greece. Who knows what I’ll find to eat there!
I love that I can use this bag with my existing frame.
I'm going to fill it up with dive gear and run it up and down the cliffs all summer!
great products and services
Paired this with the hexagon stove and it works great. Perfect combination where you can use twigs as backup and alcohol when you have it.
We've used many containers over the years to rehydrate homemade, dehydrated food on extended backpacking trips and they've all failed for one reason or another. The BOT-700 is perfect! Lightweight, big enough for our shared lunch, leak-proof, and mouse-proof!!!
